Jade Facial Roller

About a month ago, I decided to try something new and bought myself a Jade Facial Roller from Ying Yu Rollers. I've seen these before and didn't really understand the point, but after doing some reading, I thought it could be useful to me so in my cart it went.

This is a facial roller made of pure jade. Jade is known to have healing properties in helping filter and drain your body of toxins. It is used for many things, but this in particular can be used to massage the face and help with lymph drainage. The idea is to start and the center of your face and roll outwards. It gets your blood flowing and exercises the muscles in your face that are usually just stagnant.

What does all that mean? Well, we move and exercise pretty much all other parts of our body, but never our faces. It's important to massage and get your blood pumping as well as toning your facial muscles. It can help plump up your face, making wrinkles less noticeable and the getting your blood moving will help the overall look of your skin to appear healthier. I find that because it gets everything moving and active, when I go to apply my night creams, they sink in better and I can feel their effects stronger. The second thing I mentioned was draining out the toxins. This can aid in clearing up your skin by removing any build up beneath the surface. You are literally pushing those toxins away from the face. I also find that I enjoy the cooling sensation of the stone on my face. It's very calming and relaxing.

This particular version pictured above is a double facial roller. They also sell them separately. The larger end is meant for the face and the smaller end is intended for the eye area. For the face, the idea is to place the roller by your nose area and roll outwards towards the ear. You continue this all around the face, always starting by the nose and rolling outwards. Very important to roll outwards. Just think of it as pushing all the toxins out of your face so you never ever want to roll inwards. It's slightly uncomfortable to use in the beginning in certain areas. I found my cheeks to be ok, but my forehead was a bit odd because it's literally skin on bone in that area. You get used to it though; just start off gently. You will definitely feel like your face had a workout. Kind of weird when you've never felt that on your face before! As for the smaller end, you can use this around your eye area to help drain out puffiness. start from the inner corner and roll out to the outer corner of the eye. You can do this all for as long as you want. I usually do it for 2-5 minutes depending on how much time I have. You kind of get addicted and just keep rolling. haha.

It's pretty cool and I've really grown to enjoy how it feels. I think it's important to get your face muscles a little more active. Even if you aren't able to buy yourself one of these, try doing the same motions with your hands and massage your face. At least you can get some blood flowing which is good for your skin. If you want to try one out, they have a few on CultBeauty.com. Have any of you ever tried one of these already?

  1. Hey I really wanted to purchase this but I wasn't sure if it will make a noticeable difference? I have an eyebag under my left eye and I can never seem to get rid of it! Do you think this will help with the puffiness?
